Irene Schoeman

Artist Bio
Born in 1997, Irene is a South African artist specializing in stippling, a technique that creates art completely out of dots. The darker areas are made up of many dots placed closer together, and the lighter areas are created by spacing dots further apart. The technique requires a lot of patience and is incredibly time consuming.

Kudu Artist Statement
This piece of a Kudu bull took a total of 31 hours to complete, it is drawn on an A3 sheet of paper and consists of dots made from a 0.03mm fine liner.

Giraffe Artist Statement
This piece of a male Giraffe took a total of 32 hours to complete, it is drawn on an A3 sheet of paper and consists of dots made from a 0.03mm fine liner. Irene took the photo of the giraffe herself and used it as a reference for this piece.
